Double tax treaty between Denmark and France getting closer

In a recent news from the Danish Ministry of Taxation, it proclames that it is expected that a new (and in their words) better double tax treaty between Denmark and France will emerge with effect on 1st January 2022. When it will be possible to claim the benefits of the treaty is still uncertain as it will require both states to sign the treaty and enter it into force domestically.

The previous treaty was resigned by Denmark in 2008 with effect from 2009 due to a dispute on taxation on pension. Pension taxation has been a big item in the negotiations and a new model for distribution and relief has been found.

The new treaty will, once in force, undoubtably  aid in many of the unfortunate and burdenfull cases we have seen during the last +10 years, so we look forward to the two countries making ends meet.
